Goodbye...

Hello, everyone. In this post, I am going to end this post with a farewell, as we completed our blog according to our tasks. We were involved in preparing a lesson guideline for Corpus, continued with vocabulary teaching flipped classroom and grammar teaching classroom projects, and then, AR project which enabled us to travel to Krakow without getting out of our homes, and lastly, we designed a WebQuest for making students have a chance to fulfill a technology-based project. I cannot compare which one is more valuable for our future occupation, but I know that I will use each of these clever techniques for my students.
I really hope that our project that I designed with Ali Görkem will also be helpful for you. Take care until next time!

A Technology-Based Project!

Hello, everyone! This week, as a last one, we created a WebQuest, in order to provide students with a technology-based project. This tool is composed of approximately 4 steps: Introduction, Task, Process, and Evaluation, where we respectively introduce our topic and project, give students the task in a scenario, give the steps and instructions with informative video and pictures, and show the rubric according to which they will be evaluated.

Our project is having students choose 3 historical places in Istanbul, where they live, and shoot a documentary about them for their twin school friends by adding short interviews with people around the places.
Here, you can have a detailed look at our work.
We used Zunal for creating a WebQuest, you can also use QuestGarden as an alternative. The only problem we faced was some kind of technical problems with inserting photos.
I and Görkem prepared the rubric, I prepared the Introduction and Task part, Görkem prepared the Process part and shot a video introducing Canva, and posters for the use of ARloopa and QR and Barcode Scanner.
I think it is a perfect way of making students feel that they are accomplishing tasks step by step, which leads to a valuable project. Students will find the chance to get informed about the historical places they have maybe never seen in their lives.
You can have a look at my partner Ali Görkem's post about this project.
Have a nice week!

A Distant Travel to Europe!

Wouldn't be great to travel to anywhere around the world without even getting out of our homes? Here is a chance for you to do so! We are integrating AR technology into education. How? After signing up for one of the AR applications (ours is ARloopa, in this case) we integrate some informative/cultural videos into related photos, which enables students to witness the beauty of the aimed place/structure/festival, etc.

The city which I and my partner Ali Görkem aimed is Krakow, Poland. We first designed an     informative sheet which gives some clues about the city, we continued with a video that gives the general impression and which also requires students to use the app. We then prepared worksheets for 3 places (St. Mary's Basilica, Wieliczka Salt Mine, and Wawel Castle), a local food (pierogi), and a festival (The Dragon Parade) each of which includes some general and personal questions. Here you can watch our introduction video:

I and Ali Görkem prepared the worksheets via Canva and found the videos on YouTube we then used ARloopa for our AR experience, I shot the introduction part and Ali Görkem edited it via VegasPro. The only thing that got us trouble was the expiration date of the videos on the app. But we created new accounts and shot the videos immediately. Other than that, it was a very cultural and fun experience to explore such a marvelous city. You can check our work below.
See you next time!
